Katy Garden was born in Regina, Canada and discovered her love of music at an early age.  She moved to Vancouver where she went on to receive her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Vancouver Academy of Music. In 2010, Katy was offered a place to study at the Royal College of Music, London, UK, where she graduated with her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance in 2012 with Distinction. 

Katy is now based in Clevedon, North Somerset where she lives with her husband Dan, her 3 year old son, Stanley and two Labradors. Katy teaches singing to students at Clevedon School and Gordano School in North Somerset. She also leads choirs and is the Vocal Director for Musicals at Clevedon School.
 
Katy has sung under the baton of renowned conductors such as Vladmir Jurowski, Edward Gardiner and Laurence Cummings. She has performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the RCM Orchestra, Regina Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Recital Society. She has also sung in professional choirs such as KorVest (Bergen, Norway), the Eric Whitacre Singers, and the BBC Singers.
 
Katy has performed as a soprano soloist at many concerts, recitals and weddings throughout her career. Some highlights include Verdi's Requiem with Redland Green Choir and Long Ashton Orchestra, Mendelssohn's Song of Praise with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, Vivaldi’s Gloria with the New Elizabethan Singers, and Jenkins' The Armed Man with the Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society.
